Swami Vivekananda Vidyarthi Vikasa Kendra

The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka Sri H.D. Kumara Swamy, the Dy Chief Minsiter Sri B.S. Yediyurappa, the leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, Sri H.K. Patil and other cabinet ministers visited the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Belgaum on Saturday 8th April 2006.

The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the proposed block – SWAMI VIVEKANANDA VIDYARTHI VIKASA KENDRA (University Text Book Library, Reading Room and classrooms for Personality Development programmes) – and also distributed 50 tricycles and 25 wheelchairs to physically challenged persons at a total cost of Rs. 2.75 lakhs.

The Chief Minister also declared in the public meeting that the Government will soon consider the appeal of the Ashram and grant the neighbouring PWD land and 2.62 acres on lease for a nominal amount.
